Privacy Policy
What We Collect
Location data — GPS coordinates collected during active ride tracking and used to display your position on the map, calculate ride statistics, and enable group ride location sharing. Location is collected only when the app is in use and ride tracking is active.
Profile information — Your display name, email address, and profile photo. A real face photo is required per our Terms of Service.
Ride history — Routes, distances, speeds, elevations, and timestamps from your tracked rides. Stored securely in Firebase and accessible only to you.
Safety profile — Emergency contact information and optional medical notes (blood type, allergies). This information is stored encrypted and shared ONLY during an active SOS emergency broadcast. It auto-expires 1 hour after an SOS is triggered.
Device information — Push notification token for delivering safety alerts and ride notifications. We do not collect device identifiers for advertising purposes.
Usage data — App interactions used to improve features and fix bugs. No personally identifiable usage data is sold or shared with advertisers.
What We Don't Do
We do not sell your personal data to any third party. We do not use your data for advertising targeting. We do not share your location with anyone outside the app except during an active group ride (where you have explicitly joined a group) or an active SOS broadcast.
Emergency Medical Information
Medical information entered in your Safety Profile is treated with the utmost sensitivity. It is shared only with other app users who respond to an active SOS broadcast, only for the duration of the emergency, and auto-deletes from active sharing after 1 hour. Black Gold ATV does not access or review this information.
Third-Party Services
Firebase (Google) — Database, authentication, and cloud storage. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
Stripe — Payment processing. Black Gold ATV never stores payment card numbers. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
Expo / EAS — App delivery and over-the-air updates.
NOAA, NIFC, Open-Meteo — Public government weather and fire data APIs. No personal data is shared with these services.
Google Maps — Map display. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
Data Retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting support@blackgoldatv.com. Account deletion is permanent and irreversible.
Children's Privacy (COPPA)
Black Gold ATV does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Users under 13 are blocked from creating accounts. Users aged 13-17 require verifiable parental consent before account activation.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be noted in the app. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
